Kaaren did her first time trial in 2003 as training for triathlon. Although she won her first triathlon the following year (albeit as a swimmer in a relay team), she admits that since then she has become neither a top triathlete nor a top time triallist. However, this does not dim her passion for cycling. Her cycling achievements include placing second as a three-up team in the Trio Normand 2006, and completing the Etape du Tour (a mountain stage of the Tour de France) in 2005 and 2007. In 2010 she was first woman in the San Fairy Ann Sportive and the VO2 Sportive in England.
While Kaaren leaves most of the day-to-day work in running Bike Doc to Ben, she acts as chief guinea pig and paper-work guru. Most importantly Bike Doc gives her the opportunity to put all that entrepreneurship theory she learned while completing her MBA at INSEAD to the test!
